Frequently Asked Questions

Why is everyone talking about "GREEN"?

Green is the single largest consumer movement in 70 years according to Wall Street observers. Green has caught people's attention and their wallets in the effort of saving energy dollars, conserving energy and consumption for continued savings, improving health and the quality of life through eliminating toxins and harmful materials in our daily lives, and living in a way that has a lesser impact on the environment.

The goal of saving energy dollars is significant, but there are also ways to invest those dollars to work smarter for you. This is one of the key principles of Green Building. Yes, we can all wash clothes in cold water, or skip the dry cycle on the diswasher, or only turn on a 40 watt task light for reading instead of the 4 light 100 watt ceiling fan lights. But with today's technology, there are better systems and options for us to keep our quality of life high, but our energy consumption low. Just a few examples are LED lights that only use 11 watts, motion sensor devices that turn your lights and equipment on and off for occupants, efficient water heaters, insulation, attic cooling systems, and much much more.

In addition to saving money, millions have been affected by poor air and environment quality. Asthma and allergy sufferers are always at a challenge to find comfortable environments. Cancer treatment survivors are also at a disadvantage in our toxic environment as many of our materials make a person with a weak immune system suffer needlessly. Green manufacturers have come to their rescue with hypoallergenic American Clay Wall Plaster, Low VOC paints, and non-toxic building materials.

Green, or the lack of "Green" designs and materials affect us all. Each one of us has a way that their life has been improved by a Green product, design, or solution. It is our effort to continue to find Green solutions to help improve our quality of life, if not the contents of our wallets!
